AN ORDINANCE RENAMING CERTAIN STREETS AS PLATTED IN THE VERANDA WEST SUBDIVISION AND THE VERANDA PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN TO THE CITY OF MCPHERSON, KANSAS
WHEREAS, there is shown on the Final Plat of The Veranda West, a Subdivision in the Southeast Quarter of Section 16, T19S, R3W of the 6th PM, City of McPherson, McPherson County, Kansas, a street “Veranda Drive”; and
WHEREAS, there is shown on the Final Plat of The Veranda Planned Unit Development Plan, a portion of the Southeast Quarter of Section 16, T19S, R3W of the 6th PM, City of McPherson, McPherson County, Kansas, a street “Veranda Court”; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of McPherson has determined that portions of such streets should hereafter be renamed; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3400 adopted by McPherson City Commission on August 15, 2023 failed to include the legal description and was ineligible for filing with the Register of Deeds; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3428 adopted by McPherson City Commission on June 25, 2024 and published on the City’s website on July 1, 2024, failed to include the legal description and was ineligible for filing with the Register of Deeds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MCPHERSON, KANSAS:
Section 1. That “Veranda Drive” platted as a part of The Veranda West Subdivision to the City of McPherson, is hereby renamed and designated “Veranda Lake Drive,” affecting Lots 1-4, Block 1, and Lots 1-2, Block 2, The Veranda West Subdivision, and Lot 1, Block 1, and Lots 8-9, Block 3, Eagle’s Wings Estates Unit Two.
Section 2. That “Veranda Court” platted as a part of The Veranda Planned Unit Development Plan in the City of McPherson, is hereby renamed and designated “Veranda Lake Drive,” affecting Lots 1-2, Block C, and Lots 20-22, Block B, The Veranda Planned Unit Development Plan.
Section 3. After this ordinance becomes effective, the City Clerk shall file an affidavit of publication of this ordinance with the McPherson County Register of Deeds, and shall mail a copy of the affidavit of publication to the McPherson County Appraiser’s office.
Section 4. Repealer. Sections of Ordinance Nos. 3400 and 3428 conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Publication and Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, signature and publication of the full text of the ordinance on the city’s website in compliance with K.S.A. 12-3007(b).
