City of McPherson Public Hearing Notice

The City of McPherson will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 16th, 2021, at 8:30 AM at City Hall located at 400 E. Kansas Avenue, McPherson, KS 67460, for the purpose of considering an application to be submitted to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds under the Housing Rehabilitation category. A specific project to be discussed is substantial housing rehabilitation of approximately 12 houses occupied by qualifying low to moderate-income families, approximately 6 of which will be rental units and 6 of which will be owner-occupied within a target area bounded by Avenue A to the North, South Walnut Street on both sides of the street to the East, West Avenue F to the South if not in a flood zone or have a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA), and Railroad tracks to the West. The estimated project cost is $336,956, with the grant request for $300,000.00 of the project cost and a local match of $36,956 from landlord contributions, KWAP and city funds. Other project proposals introduced at the public hearing will be considered. Oral and written comments will be recorded and become a part of the City of McPherson CDBG Citizen Participation Plan.
