City Conducts Drainage Study
McPherson – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Tehama, LLC, an environmental consulting firm based in Kansas City, Missouri, are teaming with the City of McPherson Public Works Department to complete an engineering study on the Bull Creek Drainage Basin.
The drainage study is supported by a federal grant program, which provides funding to assist states in the preparation of comprehensive plans for the development, utilization, and conservation of water and related land resources.
Bull Creek Drainage Basin is located in the western district of the City. The three-week study begins Monday, November 9th, during which time local residents will encounter drainage survey crews throughout the City. Crews will be identified with the Tehama, LLC logo. Survey results will help identify future priority projects related to watershed management and flood control.
As part of the study, Benesch, an engineering company working for Tehama and the City of McPherson, will be flying a drone over Bull Creek during the same three-week period.
