The City of McPherson will hold a public hearing Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. in the Commission Room of the Municipal Center, 400 East Kansas Ave., McPherson, Kansas, for the purpose of considering an application to be submitted to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds under the COVID Resiliency (CVR) category.
A specific project to be discussed is requesting a combination of Micro Grant and Economic Development grants funds through the Community Development Block Grant Program for industries and businesses located in McPherson that have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus and are in need of eligible improvements and enhancements to stay competitive in today’s business climate.
Businesses who are eligible must have 51 percent of retained employees who meet low-to-moderate income guidelines and have between 1 and 50 employees. The estimated cost of the project is $150,000, of which all funds are through CDBG Grant Funds. Other project proposals introduced at the public hearing will be considered. Oral and written comments will be recorded and become a part of the City of McPherson CDBG Citizen Participation Plan. Reasonable accommodations will be made available to persons with disabilities.
