McPHERSON — The City of McPherson’s Building Inspection Department has an opportunity for local professionals and citizens to become more involved in the building codes process.
Staff is working to fill a committee — the Board of Trades — with the intent of offering suggestions on items related to building codes and code interpretations.
The BOT aims to meet four times during the calendar year to discuss pertinent issues, including but possibly not limited to:
- Making recommendations for changes or amendments to adopted building codes;
- Reviewing current codes and potential for adoption of new codes;
- Making recommendations to resolve disputes with code interpretation;
- Acting as a Board of Appeals
City staff is seeking at least five to take part in the board in the following categories:
- General Commercial Contractor
- Master Electrician
- Master Plumber
- Realtor
- At-Large
