[ARCHIVED] Lights from The Heartland seeks gifts of in-kind for TRADES, SKILLED LABOR, and MATERIAL

Lights from The Heartland Seeking Gifts of In Kind for TRADES AND SKILLED LABOR and Material for lig

McPherson - To ensure our commitment to establish and maintain a quality regional destination holiday lighting event in Lakeside Park, we will rely upon volunteers, donations of materials, and skilled or licensed contractors to meet municipal codes as well as to ensure the safety and quality of the event.

We seek contractors/businesses with fabrication, welding, and, electrical experience. The donation of these services will help put us one step closer to turning our Lakeside Park into a regional destination for holiday light tours. It will also help offset the cost to administer and market the event.

The City of McPherson Park department plans to include community civic groups, businesses, and volunteers in the development of the regional destination lighting event, allowing the facility to offer drive and walk-through holiday lights that attract visitors to the area, creating an economic impact on the community. Our goal is to get as many of the light displays built by local businesses or sponsored by local businesses or organizations. We plan to have several illuminated tunnels that visitors can drive and walk-through, but also a way to generate revenue and economic impact for our community in a typically slow tourist season.

• We are looking to partner with local companies and businesses!

• Does your company have skilled employees that can fabricate lighting displays?

• Want to donate new or gently used materials?

To donate new or used building materials, please contact Wayne Burns at 620.245.2535 or email wayneb@mcpcity.com. The City of McPherson Park staff will help you determine the next steps.

Business partnerships provide a mutually beneficial solution for businesses looking to invest in a well-received community event.
