Stormwater Utility Fee

A stormwater utility fee is a charge for a public service provided by the City to manage stormwater quantity and quality. The City of McPherson has approved a stormwater utility fee effective October 1, 2016. The stormwater utility fee appears on a resident's monthly Board of Public Utilities (BPU) bill. Fees collected will be used to address unfunded mandates required by EPA and infrastructure needs caused by drainage issues.

How was the rate on my bill be established? The stormwater utility fee was set by the McPherson City Commission. The fee for residential customers is $7 per month.
Single-family homes, individual duplex units and individual apartments pay the same monthly fee. Commercial properties will be charged by the number of Equivalent Residential Units (ERUs) times a monthly charge of $7.
