1. What happens in McPherson if someone is convicted of theft?

If convicted of theft, you will serve minimum of 24 hours in the McPherson County Jail.

2. What is expected of me in McPherson Municipal Court?

All persons attending court are expected to be dressed appropriately for the dignity and decorum of the court proceeding. No guns, cell phones, pagers, food, beverage or children are allowed in the court room. Once you arrive for your court hearing, please sign in with the clerk. The clerk will then give you an information slip to fill out. You will take the slip back with you when the bailiff calls your name.

3. What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check or money order (both in person or by mail). Please makes checks and money orders payable to McPherson Municipal Court.

4. Do I have to pay the court costs even if I don’t come to court?

Yes. Court costs must be paid on citations regardless of whether a defendant chooses to appear in court.

5. What are the possible consequences if I miss my court date?

Failure to comply with a citation and/or paying fines and costs may result in the issuance of a bench warrant for arrest and/or the suspension of driving privileges.
