The City of McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce the addition of Katie Rosas to its team.
Rosas, who began work with the City as a clerk in the Municipal Court in 2021, made the transfer to the McPherson Community Building mid-April. There she fills the role of the newly-created position of CVB and Community Building Administrative Assistant.
“I am so excited to have Katie join our team,” said Joni Regnier, director of the CVB. “It is nice to finally be fully staffed. Katie is full of wonderful ideas and energy and we are very lucky to have her working with us.”
Rosas, a graduate of McPherson High School, spent a few years in California before moving back to the area in 2018.
In a dual capacity, Rosas will assist Regnier in the day-to-day operations of the CVB, but will spend the bulk of her time at the Community Building, working alongside Event Manager Nick McQueen in the promotion, organization and setup/teardown of events.
“I am most excited about the nature of the job and the opportunity to assist Joni and Nick,” Rosas said. “I look forward to bringing new ideas to promote travel, tourism community and recreational events in McPherson.”
McQueen recently added the role of Community Information Coordinator for the City. The addition of Rosas provides an opportunity to add focus to that role as well.
“We’re to the point now where it’s going to be a huge help to have another person on site to make the Community Building as accessible and hospitable as it has been,” McQueen said. “Katie’s energy and enthusiasm allows us to do just that.”
Rosas’ office — along with McQueen — is located in the front of the Community Building. The facility’s normal hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but also by appointment.
