Community Building Closes for Renovation

Community Building

Beginning June 30, the McPherson Community Building will be closed indefinitely. The building’s closing is part of a comprehensive plan as the City of McPherson prepares for renovations. While specific details are yet to be determined, the City intends to develop an updated gathering place to address community needs related to sports, meetings and special events. The new facility will offer improved amenities and increased facility usage.

A planning task force will have the opportunity to make recommendations for the current structure, meet community needs and review architectural designs. Overall, the City envisions the renovation project will result in an attractive, comprehensive building that will offer modern features and support the overall community. Scheduling for the McPherson Community Building will resume when renovations are completed and a reopening date is defined.
